On Sunday last 10th May. Father Fergal MacDonagh Parish Priest in the Rialto/ Dolphins Barn parish. The Church of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Fatima. Dedicated the 11 o'c Mass in remembrance of Father Francis Gleeson. Chaplin to the 2nd Battalion
Royal Munster Fusiliers and the unveiling of the painting of Fr. Gleeson administering the Last Absolution to the Musters at Rue du Bois on the eve of the Battle of Aubers Ridge on May 8th 1915. Fr. Fergal also included in the Mass the names of
32 known parishioner who served and died in ww1. Sadly, two sets of brothers are included in the Roll of Honour.

Michael Ward age 20 KIA 02/11/1914 9th (Queens Royal) Lancers.

KIA 23/11/1917 Royal Irish Fusiliers.
The youngest fatality on the Roll of Honour.
William Vaughan. age 16 died of wounds 21/11/1918 Royal Dublin Fusiliers.
The unveiling took place
after the remembrance sermon by Fr. Fergal who then invited a descendant from the Fitzpatricks family to unveil the painting. The Act of Remembrance followe by the Exhortation (Fr.Fergal) the dipping of the Dublin Central Branch Standard. The lament
played by Piper Mark Toner of the Dublin Fire Brigade Pipe Band.

those who never returned home.
